Our easy puff pastry cheese wheelstwo cheese and roasted red peppers are such a delicious appetizer, these cute little wheels fly off the plate.

These Puff Pastry Wheels are high on my list of best meals. They’re simple, beautiful on the plate, and perfect for making ahead. add red pepper for sweetness and color.
I love them so much, and judging by how quickly they disappear at parties, I can tell you that my friends and family love them too.Serve them with other celebrities snackslike red pepper hummus, classic shrimp cocktailand: tomato bruschetta.
Main ingredients:
- Puff pastry. Use 1 sheet of frozen puff pastry, thawed. A standard box usually contains 2 sheets. I used Pepperidge Farm in the photos, but any brand will work. I thaw my puff pastry sheet overnight. You can also thaw it on the counter. It should be ready in about 1 hour. I also use puff pastry to make it quick and easy chocolate croissantswhich would be a perfect way to use up that leftover sheet.
- Cheese. I use two cheeses in these. First, something creamy like garlic and herb Boursin cheese (it’s so delicious). Goat cheese or even herb cream cheese are good substitutes. Then I sprinkle grated Parmesan cheese over the filling. Pecorino cheese or even sharp cheddar work too.
- Roasted red pepper. People eat with their eyes, and the chopped roasted peppers make these wheels so nice and appetizing. I use a jar of store-bought roasted peppers Wrap almost anything in. Think bacon, ham, caramelized onions, or a variety of vegetables.
- Fresh herbs. These are optional, but I like to add something fresh and green to the filling, fresh parsley or basil is excellent.
- Egg. To make the wheels golden brown and beautiful, we brush them with a little egg wash before sliding them into the oven. It’s simple and made with beaten egg and water.
How to make cheese spinning wheels
Once your puff pastry is thawed, this recipe is super quick. Unroll the sheet, smooth out any creases, then add the filling. Spread the soft Boursin cheese over the entire sheet, then top with the Parmesan, chopped roasted peppers, and herbs.

Roll up the paper like a jelly roll, then slice it into your wheels. Spread them on the egg wash. They will take less than 20 minutes. Serve them warm or at room temperature.
