How to make the most delicious homemade ketchup It tastes better than you can buy in the store. This is surprisingly easy to prepare from scratch, and it takes a month in the fridge.

I wouldn’t say you make your own ketchup if I didn’t think it’s worth it. This ketchup recipe makes the most delicious ketchup that knocks socks from anything you can buy in the store.
I love that this recipe uses real components, and that we can control how sweet it turns out to our ketchup. With the recipe below, I gave a number of sugar so that you can adjust to your taste.
The main components
- Onions, garlic and ginger. Add so many taste to this homemade ketchup. Ginger adds just a little spice, and the onions cooked sweet and soft, helping condens sauce.
- Allspice: I like to add a little spice to this sauce. It makes it warm and toast. If you are not sure, add less than recommended in the following recipe.
- Tomato paste and canned tomatoes. Do our sauce rich. I use canned all the tomatoes that break down and mix with a smooth, shiny sauce.
- Brown sugar. You can control how much sugar you add to homemade ketchup. My family likes 1/4 cup (4 tablespoons).
- Apple cider vinegar. Our sauce keeps a pleasant and tangled as the trademarks purchased store.
How to make homemade ketchup
To make a ketchup, prepare a sliced onion with olive oil until soft, sweet and light brown. Then mix in a garlic, fresh ginger and spices (to make it a spicy ketchup, add pinch or red pepper flakes).

Allow everything toasted in a pan that makes them extra fragrant. A minute after mixing the tomato paste and cook for another minute to remove any taste of raw tomatoes. Then throw the remaining ingredients (canned tomatoes, brown sugar, apple vinegar and salt).


Make ketchup until thick and brilliant, breaking tomatoes with a slightly spoon while it cooks. Then blend until smooth. When you are satisfied with the consistency, pour it into the jar and keep it in the fridge for up to a month.

Homemade Ketchup is simple and much more fragrant than you can buy in the store. I’m using 4 tablespoons of sugar but sugar adjusts to your taste.
Makes 3 cups

You will need
1 tablespoon of olive oil
1 medium onion, sliced in half the moon
2 garlic cloves, chopped, about 1 tablespoon
1 inch pieces of ginger, peeled and chopped
1/4 teaspoon until 1/2 teaspoons of small pepper flakes, Optional Spicy Ketchup
1/4 teaspoon of land spice
2 tablespoons tomato paste
1 (28-ounce) can all the tomato juice
2 to 5 tablespoons of brown sugar, depending on how sweet you love your ketchup
1/4 cup apple vinegar vinegar
Salt and freshly ground black pepper
Directions:
1Heat oil on medium heat. Add onions and cook until they are softened, sweet and light brown, about 8 minutes. Add garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes and spices and cook, mix frequently, 2 minutes.
2Add tomato paste and cook, stirring around the pan until the red turns into orange, for about 2 minutes.

If you use ordinary blender, the best is the mixture of batches and the blender will not be as much as you will usually be, because ketchup is so hot. We like to remove the cover center and cover it with a kitchen towel while mixing this helps the steam release and the cover can fly (which can be large, hot mess).
